Riot: before and after

Yesterday was quite an experience. In case you didn't know, Glasgow rangers were playing in the UEFA cup final, against [insert Russian team's name here]. Then again, if you didn't know that, you obviously weren't in Manchester, or Glasgow. For everyone's recollection, I've got two photos, one before and one after.

The first one was during the warm up for the match. It was
strangely a pleasurable experience, the fans were all cheering, and mostly happy. Although that's what happens when everyone is so drunk they can't remember the name of the team that they're playing. The only bad sides were that it was almost impossible to move. It took me 20 minutes to get from the bank to HMV, they are but 200 yards from each other. That and the fact that (seemingly) everyone had an air horn. This didn't help the trams, as their TRAIN horns(the louder one of two), were just drowned out. This resulted in the trams having to be given a metrolink staff escort. Luckily I managed to avoid the crowds on the way in, because as an honoury manc, I know the back ways in to the city centre.

The second image is from the next day, about 26 hours later. Manchester is now a shit-hole, There's litter everywhere, a strong stench of beer, and the pavements are filthy. This is probably due to the "beer river" that I saw yesterday. The centre is also littered with the news media pissing themselves with joy of such a story, which really isn't helping the smell.
